The Museum

A hand-drawn digital museum of games, records, countries, and pictures.

The Museum is a personal digital museum — the b-side of this portfolio. It has four wings: Cartridge, for the games that formed me; Sound, a shelf of records whose strings you can actually pluck; Postcards, where countries are doors, each opening with its own chime; and Frames, a studio grid of pictures, portraits, food, and objects.

Every artifact is an original hand-drawn SVG — no borrowed cover art and no stock photos — and every sound is synthesized in the browser with WebAudio: a church bell, an agogô, fūrin chimes, and Karplus–Strong plucks for the guitar strings. There is a searchable catalogue across all four wings, and the whole thing works without JavaScript.

It is built with Astro, TypeScript, and plain CSS, in the same type system as this site — Newsreader, Archivo, and IBM Plex Mono, with a single orange accent — so it reads as part of the portfolio rather than a separate site.
