Civic turns a plain-language trip brief into a ranked shortlist of British cities. It refreshes summaries, lead photography and current weather for ten candidates across England, Scotland and Wales, then shows the three places that best fit the brief.

The ranking runs in the browser with an open-source MiniLM embedding model. The prompt is not sent to an AI API. Curated interests such as live music, museums and architecture are combined with the semantic score so specific requirements are not drowned out by generic city descriptions.

Every recommendation keeps its evidence nearby: the official tourism guide, Wikipedia source and weather provider. If the model cannot load, Civic says so and switches to a simpler profile match rather than pretending the AI worked.

I designed the interface around one research action, three photo-led recommendations and focused city guides. The full ten-city dataset is available further down the page without competing with the result.
